We are a genuine golf course situated just 25 minutes from downtown Sapporo, or 30 minutes from Jozankei, the backroom of Sapporo. Not only are we located conveniently, but we are also one of the few golf courses that has an electromagnetic induction cart with navigation system and caddy. This allows anyone from advanced players to ladies and seniors to play without worry, which is why we are highly reputable among our customers.
The Sapporo Minami Golf Club Komaoka Course (former Jozankei Country Club) was designed and landscaped by Japan Open champion Seisui Chin. The course opened in Showa 41 (1966), and is the oldest golf course in Sapporo, with a proud history of 50 years. The course was renovated by the renowned course designer Taizo Kawada. The features of the course include the exquisite view of Mt. Eniwa to Mt. Yoichi, from different part of the course, as well as the colonnade of wild cherry trees in spring, lush greenery in summer, and the gorgeous colors of the trees in fall.
From the 13th hole you can view the entire mountain ranges which surround Sapporo; a breath away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. Veteran golfers can try their hand at hitting a GIR at this hole. The guard bunker right before the green is the perfect approach to the green. (Picture at the upper left)
The first middle hole is 346 yards, without distance, but the bunker on the right side is challenging, and very impressive as well as taunting to players. (Picture at the upper right) The 14th long hole is enticing in the sense that experienced players will want to try to get on the green in two shots, but the triple bunkers right before the green will be a stumbling block.
