Our restaurant first opened on the side of the Kamo Kamogawa River in Susukino, Sapporo in 1945. Since then, we have continued to serve celebrities from various worlds here at Kawajin. We have passed down our heart and spirit of hospitality, and have been dedicated to making and serving the finest and most delicate seasonal dishes for our course meals. We invite you to enjoy the full flavor of each changing season in a cozy and comfortable atmosphere.


Soup stock that is inseparable from and essential to Japanese cuisine is combined with select Hokkaido ingredients, to create traditional Japanese style restaurant taste. The finest ingredients in season are selected and arranged to pronounce the taste of each ingredient used in the courses.


Yuji Honma, born in 1970 in Hokkaido, trained in Asahikawa and Tokyo. He has won awards for Japanese Culinary Techniques in Hokkaido and in Tokyo, not to mention many other awards In 2008 he joined Kawajin. In the year 2009 he assumed the position of chief chef, and has since been serving our customers who love Kawajin, with traditional and satisfying Japanese cuisine.
