Enjoy the changing seasons while you indulge in exquisite Japanese Cuisine

At Elm Garden, you can enjoy the seasonal scenery of the Japanese gardens that cover over 3305 square meters, while you enjoy refined and exquisite Japanese cuisine.

Owner and Policy

Elm Garden originated from the former Elm Sanso (cabin) which was frequented by many celebrities for many years. Much history has been passed on to Elm Garden. Though located in central Sapporo, the restaurant is in a quiet world of its own, cut off from the hustle and bustle of the city, where you can enjoy awesome seasonal cuisine.

Alcohol and Cuisine

We carry over 100 labels of mainly French wines selected by our sommelier, and local Hokkaido Japanese sakes, as well as sake from breweries all over the country, including some very rare ones.

Only the finest Hokkaido and other Japanese ingredients that are safe and reliable are used to create unique Japanese dishes.

The chef Masakazu Kobayashi, takes pride in protecting the "soup stock" culture which is the backbone of Japanese cuisine, and makes each dish with much care and feeling. Ingredients used are mainly Hokkaido grown, along with carefully selected fine Japanese seasonal ingredients to create "pleasurable Japanese dishes."
